According to The Fortino Group, one-third of divorce cases is caused by online affairs. In an online survey of 38,000 internet users, according to MSNBC.com, one in ten respondents said they were addicted to sex and the internet. Dr. Michael Adamse, PhD, co-author of "Affairs of the Net: The Cybershrinks' Guide to Online Relationships" said approximately 70% of time on-line is spent in chat rooms or sending e-mail; of these interactions, most are romantic in nature.
